ABOUT ME
Welcome to my website devoted to classic cameras. Ever since I remember, I've had a contact with
photography (my father was doing it for a living), but I seriously started to be interested in photography in
1985. Since that time it is my favorite hobby (I do something else for a living). At the beginning I was taking
photos with Zenit 12xp, bought for my savings in 1985 and with Pentacon six that I received from my father.
In 1987 I bought Praktica BC 1. In 1997 I changed it for Minolta AF system. Despite the fact that nowadays I
have only Minolta Dynax 700si, I still have a fondness for older cameras. In the past I spent a lot of time in
my own darkroom. In the 80s I made black and white and also color enlargements. So I have many years of
experience in aforementioned scope. I don't participate in any competition, because photography is my
hobby which is supposed to give me satisfaction and relaxation. In everyday life there is enough of
competition. When browsing Internet resources I satisfied myself that there is not enough of Polish websites
devoted to description of photographic equipment of following brand marks: Praktica, Exakta, Exa, Praktina,
Pentacon six, Minolta, Pentax, Zenit, Kiev, Zorki, Fed, Werra. Companies' websites present only equipment
which is nowadays available on the market, with their short technical description (basic data). Internet is
also short of foreign websites concerning this domain. That's why the idea of creating Polish website
describing exactly such kind of equipment was born. If I manage to realize at least one third of my project,
the best website of his kind in Poland would be created! An important problem in creation of such website is
the fact that I have neither experience nor abilities to create the website. I use simple WebMajster editor
when building my website. It's enough for my ability. The only thing which is troublesome for me is the fact
that I can not justify text from the left and right side. A lot of controversies were born because of website
name and its address. Now the website is available under the following address: www.classiccamera.com.pl.
Why? Firstly, the website name announces what is the subject matter of it. Secondly, the name is
comprehensible also for people who do not speak Polish (in the future I would like to have abstract of my
website content in many different languages, now I have there Onet online dictionary). Third reason is the
fact that the name significance is very wide - it is not limited to one, given brand mark e.g. Pentacon, Minolta
etc. After all, it is illegal to place such brand marks in domain name. My website is supposed to be
composed of many levels. First one will be home page presenting whole website, being a kind of table of
contents. Second one will be page devoted to one given system e.g. Praktica. Third one will be pages
devoted to particular questions i.e.bodies, lenses etc. I will also have my own gallery on my website, but I
don't plan to prepare it in detail yet. In the web one can find enormous quantity of websites with private
photos. These photos are usually very important for their authors, but not very interesting for strangers.
These photos take a lot of place which can be dedicated for equipment description. I also intend to create
a section devoted to travel reports, where one can find many pieces of advice concerning practical aspect
of taking photos. Main characteristic of this website will be its real life - as opposed to many other websites.
It means that it will be created all the time. Changes will be introduced in dynamic way, once/twice a week,
sometimes every day. Therefore I present you aside work plan concerning main changes so that visitors
can see what has changed recently, after their last visit on the website. Best regards and have a good time
visiting my website! Flexon.
